About Me

I thought feeding my family would be easy—until mealtime became a daily struggle. With six kids, especially our youngest, I started questioning everything. The stress was overwhelming.

Through years of trial and error, I transformed our mealtimes from battles to bonding. My pickiest eater went from living on quesadillas to requesting tofu scramble and mushrooms. The secret? I learned that less pressure creates more joy—and kids who actually choose healthier foods on their own.

Now, as a nutrition educator, I help families discover what I wish I'd known from the start: feeding kids well isn't about perfection. It's about approach.

I earned my bachelors degree in elementary education, but was filled with a desire to learn more about how to be healthy. Cooking and nutrition has always been something I’ve been interested in, and with six hungry kids to feed, I wanted to get it right. I have certifications in nutrition science from the Stanford Center for Health Education, plant-based nutrition from the T. Collin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies, and am a certified Food For Life instructor through the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine. Recently I have also completed my Holistic Nutrition Coach Certification through AFPA.

Power Food Families based in Roseburg, Oregon, provides one-on-one nutrition and wellness coaching for individuals and families for a minimum of 3 months. Our coaching together can continue for longer as needed. Most of my work is done via video conferencing, but there are times when we can work in person, depending on location, to do things like pantry resets and cooking instruction.
